and a woman didn't expect to see her marine husband until after the holidays, but he surprised her with santa's help. good morning, i'm ally crutcher. jerry has the day off. storm track seven meteorologist eileen loan is here now with your storm track seven forecast. the snow has tracked out of the area, but some of us are seeing fog this morning, especially in the areas that saw more than an inch of snow. visibilities are down to less than a mile in some areas. roads themselves, are not too bad, but there will still be some slick spots, so be careful. temps are above average but below freezing, so be aware of slippery sidewalks and parking lots. winds are light from the west and will turn more to the southeast today. we have a pretty nice christmas day in store for us, but another

some of the smaller aircrafts also damaged. authorities say the tornado was only down on the ground for about two miles -- and was the width injured. mother nature brought heavy rains along with tumultuous flooding to different parts of georgia on christmas eve. the flooding has reportedly forced evacuations and closed roads in several counties. some of them re- opened throughout the day due to some roads clearing in the area. up to five inches of rain reported. one person living there has to deal with the damage the flood has done to his home... "we packed up at about nine o' and left." the rainfall is expected to continue through the afternoon today. a significant amount of damage has been left behind by the flood waters -- even trees have been snapped in half. a married couple in their seventies survived after their mobile home rolled down a hill in kentucky. search and rescue crews say the

home with no way to get out. it took crews nearly 30 minutes to get the people free. both were taken to the hospital -- and treated for minor activists continue to call for chicago mayor rahm emanuel to resign... following a federal investigation into the city's police department. dozens of people gathered in downtown chicago to hold a peaceful protest. they held signs and chanted "rahm must resign" as they marched along michigan avenue. the protests are in response to the fatal shooting of laquan mcdonald by a white chicago police officer last year. there were no arrests and no disturbances during christmas eve services at two churches that received mailed bomb threats this week. thousands of people packed the texas churches to rejoice in christmas eve services. the churches paid for a handful of off-duty police officers to help monitor the entrances and patrol the parking lots. many families admitted they debated whether to attend... "it basically became we could go, or we could stay home. and

outside -- bleachers were thrown across the parking lot -- damaging multiple cars. the gym owner tells us he believes his truck was totaled. the iowa state patrol says a 15 to 20 car pileup was reported on interstate 35 north of ames. crews closed down this section of i-35 for an hour. there are no reports of injuries this morning. some sad news this christmas out of florida. four people were killed in a fiery crash. three family members were on their way to visit their grandmother for christmas when the unthinkable happened. a man driving a toyota veered into oncoming traffic and hit the vehicle carrying the three men. the crash ended with one of the cars bursting into flames. a florida sheriff says it's hard to tell a family member they lost a loved one... "when a law enforcement officer wakes you up, comes to been here hours before, there's nothing you have to say initially. you've just confirmed their worst fears by your presence. the driver of the toyota was later

at least 13 people were injured when a bus crashed into an office building in england. all the people injured had what were described as minor injuries. no one inside the building was hurt. one person was seriously hurt.. three others walked away from a small plane crash in mississippi. investigators say after taking off, the pilot noticed the flap on one of the wings got stuck and tried to return to the airport. instead, the plane came down in someone's yard. one was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. the other three on board went to the hospital to be checked out -- but are ok. police say a deadly mall shooting was not a random act of violence. the shooting was reported earlier in charlotte, north carolina. police say two groups of people were fighting when one of them working at the mall shot and killed the gunman. one woman was shopping with her two young children at the time "i had my little girls with me, and it all just happened rushed right through the twins,

gone." fortunately -- she was reunited with her children after the incident. the charlotte police chief didn't say if the shooting is gang-related -- but they did say the two groups involved had a "history of fighting." new this morning... a lottery winner in iowa may have to return his 100- thousand-dollar prize. lottery officials say he was too young to buy a ticket... but he lied about his age. in late july, a man claimed his prize check, saying a co- worker bought him the winning ticket. but lottery officials say an investigation found that he, in fact, bought the ticket... "there wasn't anything wrong on the face of it, from that situation, so long as the facts back up what occurred. in this would apply." he's facing misdemeanor charges for underaged gambling.

murder -- dies of natural causes due to pneumonia. 76-year-old john wilson was serving a life sentence for two counts of first degree murder in marshall county. his sentence started on december 22nd in 19-83. authorities confirm he died yesterday. apparently, the grinch has been busted...
